Heading out for my morning walk, I was greeted by a brilliant show.
I love a fiery sky through winter trees.
Today's the day our star will finally come down - weather permitting.
At least today looks better than yesterday.
But even with the dark stormy sky, there was a rainbow.
And the strange light made for a stark contrast for the houses below us in the valley.
Every day is different and has treasures of its own and walking is a great way to discover and unwrap those treasures.
The painting of me was done by my brother Ron when I was around three and he was in his early 20's (check out WalkingFortBragg.blogspot for his blog). I come from a very artistic, crafty family. My Mom was always working on something (crochet, knitting, and needlework and sewed me some beautiful clothes. My Dad ("Papa") was always making "something out of nothing" and carved beautiful images from a single piece of wood. Both of my brothers are basically mechanical engineers and artists. My brother Ron is a wonderful pen-and-ink artist and my brother Ken is a woodworker and drummer. I spend most of my waking hours at a corporate job. It's interesting, challenging, and I'm blessed to have it. However, I look forward to the day when I can explore more of my creative side. In the meantime, I squeeze in crafting, playing music and photography/design wherever and whenever I can.
